MY APPROACH AND BACKGROUND

Is anxiety blocking you from fully experiencing the life you want to live? Maybe you’re having trouble building friendships and romantic relationships, speaking up at work and pursuing your career, experiencing new social situations, or being assertive. Perhaps you struggle with worry, beating yourself up, shame or depression. I’m here to guide you in learning and practicing skills and strategies to help overcome your anxiety and mood problems, and to build the bridge to connect to the life you want to live.

Using evidence based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), I value leaning into our strengths and understanding how the systems we live in impact our daily lives. I especially welcome humor in our sessions as a tool to find relief in our daily struggles as we work to reshape the thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you. I specialize in working with 18+ individuals around social anxiety, worry, LGBTQ issues, OCD, phobias, depression, and financial education. As a Certified Financial Social Worker, I can help you overcome anxiety around money, and develop tools to feel financially empowered,

You lead the way in your healing journey, with my support and guidance. Each week we’ll jointly decide on CBT self-help exercises to do between sessions so that you can develop and practice skills and strategies to meet your personal goals, and to test and change your troubling thoughts, beliefs and behaviors.

I have 9 years of experience as a licensed social worker in Washington DC supporting the LGBTQ, unhoused, and low-income communities as a therapist, caseworker, and advocate. I obtained my Masters in Social Work from the Catholic University of America. I am licensed in Washington, DC and have availability for both in-person or virtual sessions.
